Green engineering has many definitions, but can be thought of as the design and commercialisation of effective and viable products which also minimise pollution at source and which reduce the risk to human and environmental health.

Companies who don't go green will not only lose out on the substantial benefits that can be accrued, but will also be subject to increasing regulation and legislation.

Envirowise is a DTI funded programme to help companies reduce environmental impact through benchmarking, case studies and on-site advice. In addition, a number of other organisations employ specialist advisors who can work with companies during the design phase of a new product.

To find out more about Envirowise and other organisations supporting companies to go green, contact the MAS in the South East on 0845-609-2121 where the team can put you in touch with programmes wherever you are located.
