Hundreds of millions of pounds are spent on research by the UK defence industry, creating thousands of patented ideas, many of which result in 'spin-offs' for commercial applications. However, a significant number of these innovations remain to be commercialised.

The Defence Diversification Agency (DDA) provides access for commercial companies to the research that is available from the Defence Research Agency, now called QinetiQ (pronounced Kinetic).

To find out more about the DDA and other programmes designed to both support the defence industry (such as Trade Partners UK) and enable companies to work better with this key sector, contact the Manufacturing Advisory Service in the South East on 0845-609-2121 where the team can put you in touch with programmes wherever you are located.
