New Sliding Head Follows £0.5m Spend Last Year
01 Apr 2004
LMS Precision Engineering, Worcestershire has recently taken charge of its latest machine tool, a Citizen type L32, which follows a spend of £0.5m on three new machine tools last year.
Further investment is planned in 2004 to continually increase the performance of the firm's capacity for unmanned running.
The new machine increases LMS's sliding head capacity to 32mm diameter, although up to 65mm diameter can be achieved on the firm's fixed head bar feed machines.
Last years investment consisted of: a twin spindle bar fed Nakamura Tome WT150 lathe; a Matsuura HP405 six pallet horizontal machining centre; and a TC200 two axis Takisawa lathe.
LMS serves a variety of customers with complex, precision machined parts. These include:
manufacturers of: aircraft hose fittings, hydraulics, medical pumps, diesel fuel systems, wiper blades, and bottle making equipment.
