Unique Benders Extend Contract Tube Fabrication Services in Stainless

Following the opening, 18 months ago, of an additional factory on its site in Kettering, Northants, specialist manufacturer of high quality stainless steel products and fabrications, Cooney Marine International, has invested in two unique tube manipulation machines and a 4kW laser cutter. The new facility has achieved significant gains in product quality and production efficiency, and complements existing fabrication bays, state of the art 3D modelling systems and an extensive machine shop.

Refit Showcases Wealth of Engineering Expertise

A recent major refit and conversion of a 50 year old, 58m motor yacht undertaken by Atlantic Engineering at the Odyssey Works site in Birkenhead, demonstrates the company's wealth of experience in ship repair and also in providing solutions to component renovation problems. Atlantic has a comprehensive portfolio of specialized equipment (lathes up to 17m between centres and overhead cranage of 25 tons), and its extensive engineering services include a metallurgical laboratory.

Marine Bearings Contract is First of Many From VEN

The first Virtual Enterprise Network (VEN) in Yorkshire and Humber has finalised the first of what could be several multi-million pound contracts with Norway based Rolls Royce Marine. Leeds Bronze, the UK's largest stockist of bronze materials and part of the Advanced Engineering and Metals VEN, beat competition from across Europe to secure the deal with Rolls Royce Marine Engines, Bergen, to supply bearings. The deal will see the West Yorkshire company's turnover grow by nearly one third.
