John Stevenson, managing director, said: "Almost all our equipment can interface to computer aided design software, so we are well equipped to help develop and machine rapid prototypes, something that is essential in this fast moving part of the market". "
The great thing about the laser cutter is that we can produce complex sheet metal components without the considerable delay and expense of having to create special tooling," continued John. "Furthermore, if our client wants some minor changes to the design, we simply modify the program rather than have to reengineer the tooling as in the old days. This gives our customers a lot of freedom at the design stage and also once in production."
Hitec serves a range of customers, providing everything from sheet metal enclosures, chassis for electronic components, turned parts for sensors, radio frequency screening components and in some instances, large scale fabrication for products such as music CD recording plant.
