Part of the SEMTA group, the Sector Skills Council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, EAL, has worked with the Diploma Development Partnership, comprising six Sector Skills Councils led by SEMTA, employers and educationists, to create the qualification from the agreed content.
EAL’s managing director, Ann Watson, said: “We are delighted to extend our range of qualifications by offering the new Engineering Diploma. Many schools are familiar with EAL’s NVQs and VRQs which our centres are currently delivering to their 14-16 year old pupils through Young Apprenticeships and other vocational programmes. I believe our experience and reputation here will stand us in good stead to offer a relevant and attractive Diploma award.”
