“We continually invest in machinery and people enabling us to keep ahead of an ever changing and demanding market place,” says the company’s sales and marketing manager Andrew Buckingham.
“We bought our first DMG 70 evolution two years ago, and the way our business has grown means that it is now at full capacity so we needed a second machine. It is much more flexible than a conventional vertical machining centre and allows us to produce a component in the minimum number of setups – we can machine five sides in one setup. The benefit for the customer is greater accuracy and the ability to produce more complicated jobs more easily. We are doing five axis work for customers in industries that include aerospace, defence and oil and gas. Sometimes these components can only be made using full five-axis machining.”
