Defence industry programs come and go, some products move from the drawing board through to production, whilst others fail to make it past the development stage. Merc and its personnel have significant experience in machining small batches of ‘concept’ components where the information supplied is in sketch form, through to large batch production of complete assemblies.

The company has been  supplying defence industry components on a regular basis for over thirty years for industry leaders such as BAE Systems & Cobham plc (for example; ASRAAM, Storm Shadow, 1000lb bomb, GPMG and Spearfish).

Merc’s production capacity has grown and diversified to a position where it now comprises not only CNC turning and CNC milling, but sliding head CNC turning, CNC wire eroding, spark eroding and fast hole drilling, and more recently, a precision TIG welding facility.
