Auto quality standard for Profin
07 Apr 2008
Midlands-based metal finishing company Profin Protective Finishing has now achieved accreditation to the only globally recognized automotive quality standard ISO TS 16949. The approval covers Profin’s full range of services and complements recent investment in expanding the company’s powder coating capability to include larger components.
Profin is an industrial metal coaters for all types of ferrous, zinc, aluminium and combination materials including die castings. It offers fast turnaround in the application of wide range of high quality corrosion resistant finishes including programmable build cathodic electropaint, powdercoat and dip-spin centrifugal painting.
By investing in the latest three-stage Vixen phosphate machine it has been able to extend the range of fabrications it can powder coat up to 2.5m in length. Steel or aluminium can be pre-treated and finished in any powder coat available to include a full range of polyester, epoxy and epoxy-polyester powders, BS and RAL colours, textures and metallics.
The increased capacity allowed by the new pre-treatment plant allows Profin to serve new markets where larger component sizes are commonplace, such as fabrications, roofing, lighting, shop fittings and domestic goods. This diversification is built on more than a 100 years of experience in coatings from origins in plating needles to serving the automotive, aerospace and defence industries.
In addition to its pretreatment and coating lines, Profin’s also offers comprehensive laboratory and testing facilities.
