THG, Teknek's holding company will own 50% of the venture which will be based at Fortec's Blantyre premises.

Stephen Mitchell, THG managing director said, “Teknek Howwood has long been
regarded as one of Scotland's leading sub-contract manufacturing organisations. Having worked with Fortec we realised that together we could be a formidable force in the engineering field. We are therefore delighted that Fortec and Teknek Howwood have agreed to form Metallo.”

Fortec was established in 1992 and moved to its present headquarters in Blantyre in 2000. It offers precision engineering services to a wide range of customers in Europe and North America in fields ranging from defence to telecommunications. The majority of its work is in aluminium but they can work with a variety of other materials including titanium and inconel alloys as well as designer steels. Fortec was one of the first companies in the UK to install Reninshaw Probing facilities to its machines which aids accurate measurement of dimensions in-situ after machining. In addition, the company
has invested in the latest Haas machine tools.
