Techno Group moves on two fronts
17 Apr 2008
The Techno Group, a subcontract supplier of precision turned parts to the aerospace industry and other sectors, is made up of two sister companies, both owned by Fred Moser and run by local management teams. The Group has now appointed a new Managing Director for Rugby-based Technoset and is expanding the group’s prismatic machining capabilities.
As from the beginning of April, Kevan Kane, formerly general manager at Rugby takes on the role of Technoset managing director. David McIlwain continues in his position as managing director of Technoturn in Hastings which he has held since the beginning of operations there in 1995.
As part of its growth strategy, the Techno Group is now increasing its prismatic machining capability to include 3-, 4- and eventually 5-axis machining centre capability. Expansion is already under way at Technoturn, where the 8,000 sq ft premises has been increased by 50 % by moving into the adjacent unit on the Churchfields Industrial Estate.
Initially it will accommodate the company’s existing Daewoo Mynx vertical machining centre and a second, high-speed, twin-pallet Brother machining centre that will be delivered immediately after the MACH 2008 exhibition where it will be on show. Eventually the facility will be used to develop and improve the company's milling and turning capabilities together with any other processes that become necessary to improve its customer service and satisfy the requirements of its growing and ever more demanding customer base.
