GTMA Seminars Drive Technology Transfer
01 Aug 2003
As part of its new information dissemination initiative the GTMA is holding a series of technology seminars, the first of which is being hosted by SECO Tools (UK) at its Alcester facility on 7 October. This event will enable participants throughout the supply chain to understand the latest technical advances and how they will affect the wider manufacturing picture.
The agenda will include: New tooling materials; The latest advances in CNC simulation; Technical benefits of HSM and 5axis machining; Software management tools; Latest developments in intelligent automation; Developments in PVD coatings.
There will also be an exhibition and demonstration area in which companies including: HMC Brauer, Carrs Welding Technologies, Materialise, Mazak, Pathtrace Engineering Systems, Rudolph Carne & Co. , Tecvac and Vero International Software UK, will be present to discuss and demonstrate the latest technical developments in their sector.
The GTMA is by definition a focal point for technology transfer and is involved in an extensive programme of R&D initiatives specifically aimed at improving competitiveness in manufacturing. However the association has embarked on a broader and braver course; to help raise the level of knowledge, skills and business activity across its membership base of "concept to component" manufacturing. This is why the GTMA Technology Days are not limited to GTMA members, but are open to everyone who participates in its industry sectors.
