From the 1st January 2004 Micrometric Techniques will trade simply as Micrometric Limited following the retirement of Dr Maurice Gates MBE.
Dr Gates formed the business in 1982 and remains a leading figure in the industry. He received the MBE for his services to industry in 1987 and an Honorary Doctorate in 1997.
He was the recipient of the coveted AILU Award for his outstanding contributions made to the industrial use of lasers in the UK in 1999.
