SMEs Net Free, 'Green', Advice Anonymously

SMEs generate about 60% of the nation's commercial waste and are responsible for as much as 80% of pollution incidents. A new website has been launched to help small businesses comply with their environmental responsibilities.
A national survey by NetRegs, a new environmental website, revealed a widespread lack environmental awareness amongst firms. Of those surveyed most believed that they had little or no impact upon the environment and only 18% could name any environmental legislation.
The new website is supported by the Environmental Agency and the Small Business Service. It will provide information on complex environmental legislation and will include guidelines for as many as 100 business sectors.
