Investment in Skills Wins Top Industry Accolade

At a recent ceremony, the Gauge and Toolmaker's Association (GTMA) presented its Rudolph Carne award to specialist tool company, FSG Tool & Die Ltd. The company's track record in maintaining a consistent throughput of highly skilled engineers and its commitment to recruiting apprentices year-on-year is a substantial investment for a company of its size.
FSG Tool & Die Ltd, which specialises in the production of tooling for metal and plastic packaging, hot forging and the production of automotive press tools, has invested heavily in apprenticeship training to improve its competitive edge. The company aims to reverse the trend of importing tooling from the Far East, by establishing a world-class toolmaking base in Wales which in turn could serve as a centre of excellence for the design and manufacture of Press, Injection Moulding and Die Cast Tools.
