    Investment Needed To Satisfy Global Markets

    Jefferson Engineering Services has recently installed the latest of its seven 5-axis high speed machining centres at its premises in Ashford, Kent. During the past 3 months alone, Jefferson has been awarded two new contracts worth approximately £500,000 per annum to supply complex machined components to the aerospace industry despite international competition.

    Robotic Polishing Reduces RSI Dangers

    CH Precision Finishers, is investing in robotic polishing to reduce lead times and operational environment dangers. The company claims robotic polishing for the initial grinding operations on certain turbine blades will reduce operators' exposure to vibration white finger repetitive strain injury (RSI), and improve lead times. 

    Extra Gundrilling Added to Bore Processing Array

    The capacity at Perfect Bore, Andover has recently been increased with a new 1.5m centre line gundrilling machine, and following acquisition in recent months by a division of the Dover Corporation in the USA, Performance Motorsports Inc (PMI), further expansion of the gundrilling and honing operation has since taken place, culminating in a recent move to a new, purpose equipped 8500 sq. ft factory.
