Pushing Uncertainties as Low as They Can Go

Recent changes at Allied Aerosystems Ltd, which supplies one of the widest ranges of bespoke calibration services in the UK to major airlines and aviation companies, will further extend the boundaries and accuracy of the services offered. The development of additional UKAS parameters for new services, along with MoD approved electronic trading facilities, demonstrate that Allied is pushing uncertainties as low a they can go.

Following a £150k investment in new metrology equipment, Allied Aerosystems' in-house capabilities, based in South Wales, now cover a wider range of calibration facilities including electrical, mechanical, temperature, and pressure.

Allied Aerosystems are specialists in the calibration and repair of electronic, mechanical and RF test and measurement equipment for the aviation and defence industry, and is the JCAir (BF Goodrich) European agent for repair and calibration.

The company is aiming to become the Centre of Excellence for Calibration in Wales. Having already reached the UKAS parameter standard for electrical (voltage/current generation and measurement) calibration, Allied Aerosystems is now seeking the UKAS parameter in the calibration of pressure controllers and gauges. Further work is underway to become accredited to the UKAS parameter for linear measurement, and to offer a new service to calibrate surface tables.

Allied Aerosystems has just finished registration procedure for D2B (Defence to Business) trade.

This enables the company to trade electronically with the MoD.
