New Sliding Heads Bring Body Jewellery Business
01 Mar 2003
Until only six years ago ACP Engineering, West Sussex, was operating successfully with 30 and 40 year old cam autos. The company resisted upgrading its facilities to CNC until it found the right sliding head machines that could compete with the capabilities of its old machines. The past six years had seen ACP acquiring on average one new Deco sliding head machine a year, each capable of lights out operation.
ACP is a sub-contractor specialising in the automated production of turned parts with maximum diameter of 25.4mm, in various materials including titanium and stainless steel. The company has applied its new CNC capabilities to make efficiencies in existing products, and to diversify into new markets, such as body jewellery, which the sliding head machines are ideally suited for.
