Toolbox for Industry Boosted by Funding
01 Mar 2003
A major new research initiative at Queen's University, Belfast, which will help companies to solve environmental problems, has been given a £4.1 million funding boost.
QUESTOR Environmental Tools will deliver a new generation of costeffective and practical environmental monitoring tools, enabling companies to improve their environmental and economic performance in line with government plans for sustainable industrial development.
As part of the programmes two types of tool will be developed. The first are sensor, analytical and process tools, which will support analysis across a wide remit from water and wastewater treatment to remediation of contaminated brownfield sites.
The second group will be computer-based tools that will support both effective decision making processes and environmental communication in order to improve environmental performance.
