New EIA Member Responds to Ever Changing Marketplace
01 May 2003
One of the latest companies to take up the benefits of membership of the Engineering Industries Association is Alder Precision Engineering, which was formed in 1987 as a result of the changing market place within the investment casting industry. At that time, customers were asking for fully machined and finished castings from a single source.
In its early years Alder Precision concentrated on developing techniques for machining complex, light weight investment castings for use in the aerospace and defence industries. This was achieved by the purchase of state of the art CNC machine tools and the use of the latest tooling available.
More recently, Adler's customers have been asking for increasingly varied processes, and have lead the company into the fields of: machining from solid; light assembly; kitting of parts for "ship to line" deliveries; and the machining of materials such as magnesium.
