Responsible Electroplater Achieves Recognition for Environmental Controls
01 May 2003
Recognising that environmental responsibility is a key supplier attribute, within 18 months of deciding to obtain ISO14001 accreditation, R Wilson & Co, Chesterfield, has become one of the few companies within the electroplating industry to achieve the standard. It is just one of a string of good practice accreditations held by this proactive firm, which was established in 1947.
R Wilson is also accredited to both ISO9001:2000 and Investor in People standards, and is currently preparing an application for IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) well in advance of the July 2004 deadline.
In addition to hard chrome, bronze, zinc, duplex nickel and chrome, phosphating and black oxidising, R Wilson specialises in chrome plating on top of bronze, which gives a corrosion resistance in excess of 1000 hours salt spray testing. The company has capacities up to 2.5t and 4.5m, and on their fully automated duplex nickel and chrome plant, they electroplate millions of seat belt tongues for the automotive industry.
