Buyers of sub-contract services and capacity are promised a host of practical, money-saving options at this year's Contract Manufacturing show (11-13 November, NEC, Birmingham) where exhibitors will be addressing the needs of first, second and third tier suppliers as well as OEMs. The focus will be on sub-contract machining, assembly, plastics and rubber moulding, fabrication, surface and heat treatment, electro-mechanical engineering, toolmaking and casting, and more.

In addition to the wide range of sub-contract services on show at Contract Manufacturing, and the new products at Tooling and Inspex, the shows' free educational seminar programmes include 'how we do it' presentations by two of the country's outstanding sub-contractors, Dutton Engineering (Woodside) and Holifields.

There will also be seminars by: the Society of British Aerospace Companies, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders, Sandvik and MG Rover (Tooling), the National Physical Laboratory, the Institute of Quality Assurance and the British Standards Institute (Inspex).

Organisations such as the Federation of Small Businesses, the Manufacturing Advisory Service and the Production Engineering Research Association are also playing key roles in this year's events.

It all adds up to an unrivalled extravaganza of manufacturing knowledge that every purchasing director and sub-contractor cannot afford to miss.
