Re-Conditioned Worn Parts are Better Than New
01 Sep 2003
Metallic Protective Plating, Warwick, is currently trialling the use of their own version of functional chrome - Metallichrom, to repair machines that manufacture ink-jet cartridges for a leading computer company.components can be costly to manufacture or replace. By using Metallichrom to salvage worn or over-machined precision parts, sometimes a better than new condition is attained.
Metallichrom is a specialised hard chromium coating that has been developed to offer the end user a greater anti-corrosion wear characteristic over and above conventional chrome.
The result is a hard, abrasion resistant deposit, with 'Non-stick' quality that can be ground and/or polished to mirror like finish, and withstand working temperature up to 650(C.
The wear resistant Metallichrom prolongs life of components subjected to abrasive wear, such as used in hydraulic equipment, for example:
rams, pistons, presses, earth-moving equipment, forklift truck and mining equipment.
