Water-Jet Takes the Jig Out of Jigsaw Making

Pauline and Colin Gee, of Gee Graphite, have launched a spin-off company, PG Puzzles, which is introducing a new range of wooden jigsaw puzzles, cut by water jet.

(www.pgjigsawpuzzles.co.uk. ) The innovative West Yorkshire based company installed the first waterjet cutting unit in the UK in 1991.

Since then Colin has developed a ten head water-jet machine which is unique and the largest in the UK, if not the world.

Colin Gee says: "We can make a wooden jigsaw the size of a postage stamp! PG Puzzles feature a clean cut edge for the perfect fit. A water-jet travelling at twice the speed of sound gives you the edge of stunning precision."

Water-jet cutting offers impressive operational advantages and enhances Gee Graphite's profile-cutting service beyond the parameters offered by conventional cutting technologies. The equipment is able to cut virtually any sheet material with extreme precision and produces stress-free cuts without distortion or heat-affected zones.
