Honing & Deep Hole Drilling

Honing Activities Move to Make Room for Extra DHD

Relocating its manual honing activities to an adjacent site has enabled Hone-All Precision to begin re-organising its main machining facilities in readiness for the installation of another deep hole drilling and boring machine.

Customer Specific Cell Adds Value to Services in Machined Parts Project

Premier Deep Hole Drilling of St Albans, specialist in high-quality sub-contract honed, drilled and bored parts, has invested over £250,000 during the past 12 months on high-tech multi-axis turning centres and inspection equipment to create a customer-specific manufacturing cell to satisfy a value-added machining project on a range of parts.

Honing Work Led to Machine Sale

Delapena, the leading UK manufacturer of honing machines, also offers sub-contract honing services. A project that began 18 months ago illustrates the importance of subcontract work to the company: its link with the other business activities; and provision of a valued service for large companies where complex honing is required, usually with a fast turnaround.

£700k DHD Machine is Largest Available in Europe for Contract Work

A £700k TBT Tiefbohrtechnik deep hole drilling (DHD) machine that was delivered and installed last month at TBT UK Ltd, Coleshill, Birmingham, is probably the largest deep hole drilling machine available for subcontract work in Europe. An additional large deep hole boring machine is also due for delivery early next year, which will further extend TBT UK's capabilities from: 0.9mm minimum drilling diameter up to a maximum of 200mm drilling diameter with drilling depths of up to 5m; and a 25t maximum work piece weight.
