01 Dec 2004
The management buyout at RPL Productions Ltd, Birmingham, was made official earlier this month, although the three new directors have been operating as such for the past 18 months. The new team has established ongoing 'cost down' initiatives for reasonable volumes and has already achieved TS16949 on open status with the intention of developing sales in the automotive market.
"It's business as usual", says Gary Thompson, commercial director (formerly sales and production manager) as there had been no major changeover of staff. The semi-retiring managing and technical directors, Richard Padmore and Robert Llewellin have new roles as chairman and technical executive respectively.
Accounting manager Gary Birkin is the new managing director, and Keith Fletcher, formerly QA manager, is the new operations director.
