GTMA Seminar To Discuss Knowledge Based Engineering

On 4th March, 2004 the GTMA, Corus Automotive, Dzus Fasteners, Brunel University and Tanet are holding a seminar discussing how the application of Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) will affect manufacturing in the UK and examining the results of the recent DTI-funded TEDI (Tooling and Experiential Design Initiative) scoping study into the current and future condition of UK toolmaking.
The keynote presentation will be given by Mike Twelves, responsible for KBE at Corus Automotive, one of the world leading companies in this field, who will be looking at the applicability of different KBE methods in the solving of engineering problems.
Diane Mynors, of Brunel University, will talk through the background and results from the TEDI study, which has examined the future for advanced precision engineering in the UK.
Presentations will also be given by Dzus Fasteners, on the benefits of rapid tooling technology to plastic injection moulding and GTMA President, Roger Onions, will be providing an overview of advanced design solutions for engineering.
