Airbus Approved Bore Finishing Specialist Makes Air Show Debut

Component performance and reliability in today's aerospace sector requires specialist companies to be able to produce bores in customer's components to extreme exacting submicron geometrical tolerances combined with specific surface finish requirements. Next month, after years of service to the aerospace industry, Perfect Bore Manufacturing Ltd is to exhibit at the Farnborough International air show for the first time, at D10 on the North West Aerospace Alliance pavilion.
The Andover based company has achieved major success in supplying aerospace spools and valves lapped to sub 1 micron roundness, straightness and cylindricity combined with exacting finish requirements.
Expertise in producing bore size and bore geometry has led Perfect Bore into the field of internal and external lapping.
Over the last decade Perfect Bore has supported major projects, such as Eurofighter, Apache, Hawk and Tornado, which have led to formal approvals as preferred supplier for honing, gun drilling and super finishing. Formal Airbus UK approval as a preferred supplier was added recently to existing approvals.
Continual growth and investment under new ownership has seen the Andover based company expand its machining capacity to offer total manufacturing services, and secure further long term business within the Aerospace sector.
