Continuous Casting Line Leads to Steady Growth

Copper Alloys Ltd, Stoke-on-Trent, has grown steadily since its management buy-out four years ago. Earlier this year a new horizontal casting line was commissioned, which has not only improved competitiveness in existing products but has opened up the door to a whole new market in copper alloys including brass.
The new casting line continuously produces bars, tubes and sections of copper alloys such as phosphor, leaded and aluminium bronze. These castings can then be cut into billets or machined into finished parts.
The new production line is built around leading edge casting technology and enables a vast range of alloys to be produced to exact specifications and tolerances. This has generated a lot of interest from the automobile, offshore and aerospace sectors.
