01 Jun 2004
MRT Castings Limited, the Hampshire based diecasting and machining specialist has experienced 20% sales growth in the past 12 months. Two Buhler pressure diecasting cells featuring the latest productivity and quality enhancing technologies have recently been installed. MRT's foundry offers sand casting, gravity diecasting and high pressure diecasting in aluminium and zinc alloys.
"We have invested in state-of-the art machinery in both our foundry and machining departments, to ensure that we have one of the best equipped facilities in the country, " explains Phil Rawnson, MRT's commercial director. "But we are small and agile enough to react effectively to frequent changes in schedules, and we are quite prepared to run small batches."
MRT's recent machinery investment has added 6 Brother 4-axis high efficiency machining centres, increasing machine shop facilities to a total of 14 modern CNC units. This is supported by impressive inspection facilities, including two DEA CNC coordinate measuring machines, the latest of which was installed in March 2004, featuring full 3D CAD integration.
Principal markets are in the electronics, communications, marine, aerospace and defence industries.
