Engineer Sidelines in Machine Tool Transport

Handling volume production equipment in a factory relocation is a demanding and exacting science.

Having relocated it's clock making business three times in 50 years, Gluck Engineering operates a little known, but growing, sideline business in machinery removals, haulage and factory location services.

Regular clients include other BTMA members and machine tool suppliers such as NC Engineering.

Recently, Gluck's Transport Division helped Qualiturn Products Ltd, Herts, to relocate on target without any loss of production output.

The move to a new site two miles away involved a machine shop of 16 CNC lathes (each with an automatic bar loader). The whole move took place over four and a half days. Each machine tool was operating again within three to four hours.

Gluck Engineering has been involved in the turned parts and general engineering since 1954. Also known as F.A. Gluck (Clockmakers), the London based company has built a reputation for the finest reproduction carriage clocks available today and for being totally self sufficient in production. To date the company's success has been recognised by the Queens award for export and world wide interest in the company's capabilities.
