Finishing Specialist Fixes a new Feather in its Cap
01 May 2004
Aerospace and industrial finishing specialist Ashton & Moore Ltd, has recently achieved the prestigious Nadcap accreditation for chemical processing, and was one of the first in the UK to do so. Ashton & Moore has already held Nadcap approval for its non-destructive testing services, for three years, and the latest audit report was so good as to warrant an 18 month period before the next audit.
The Nadcap standard is a mandatory requirement for all UK suppliers to Rolls-Royce plc. In due course it will also be adopted by most of the major aerospace companies. For example, as from mid 2005 all UK suppliers to Airbus will be required to have Nadcap accreditation.
The Birmingham company, which has worked closely with defence and aerospace manufacturers for more than 60 years, and supplies finishing to many household names, already has an impressive and long list of industry approvals for a wide variety of metal and industrial finishing processes.
Complementing its plating, painting and anodising capability, non destructive testing offers aerospace, defence and other specialist manufacturers the opportunity of 'single source procurement' bringing the benefits of reduced lead times, costs and logistical problems.
Ashton & Moore's current approvals are listed on the company's website, and include: MoD, ISO9000:2000, AS9100, CAA, BAe, Rolls Royce, McDonnell Douglas, Messier Dowty and Dowty Group.
