Grinding Operations Will Be Most Advanced in UK

On the second day of MACH 2004, Vincent Bootes, owner of PG Technology Ltd, signed a purchase order for two Studer S31CNC cylindrical grinding machines. The purchase is part of a £multi-million investment program that has seen PG evolve over the past two years into a consolidated manufacturing organisation offering contract manufacturing, advanced toolmaking, 5-axis CNC machining, CNC grinding services, and CNC grinding wheel profile dressing systems.

"PG Technology has decades of experience in advanced grinding operations, " said Mr. Bootes. "To maintain our lead and our reputation, we need to have the best equipment available. We chose the Studer S31 because it's a compact but extremely capable machine ideal for grinding complex, multi-diameter and out of round components to very highaccuracy."

Kaspar Schaerer, Studer's Sales Manager for Great Britain, was especially pleased with the sale, not least because the two S31's will be the most advanced Studer grinding machines of their size and type to enter the UK.

"PG Technology's S31's will have every optional feature that we currently offer- both hardware and software, " said Mr. Schaerer. "Of the 300 S31's we've sold since the machine was introduced four years ago, very few have been built to such high-specification."

The company's Mitcham factory also boasts a purpose built, £multimillion, climate controlled EDM Centre, one of the most advanced of its kind in the UK.
