Precision Engineering

Man, Machine & Society

Readers of Engineering Capacity are invited to a free lecture presented by William Starling, consultant to European Automotive Industry. 'Man, Machine & Society', is organised by the Society of Engineers, and begins with refreshments at 6pm on 15th December 2004, at the Medical Society of London.

'Collectively, by virtue of being responsible for "the machine", engineers have a role that has profound effects on both the individual and on society at large', says Mr Starling. His presentation provides some illustrations of the scale of the impact that engineering can have, and may serve to remind us all of the responsibilities that the profession carries.

RSVP to the Society's chief executive by Tuesday, 7th December.
