Visitor Demand Leads to New Dimension Added to Manufacturing Shows
01 Sep 2004
As part of its long-term growth strategy, European Trade & Exhibition Services (ETES), organisers of the UK's six successful regional manufacturing exhibitions, is launching three new product centres at Southern Manufacturing, Thorpe Park, Surrey, 16-17 February 2005, that will benefit exhibitors and visitors alike. The Machine Tool Centre, Subcontracting Centre and Used Machinery & Equipment and Live Auction Centre, will be introduced into all subsequent exhibitions.
A number of leading manufacturers and suppliers have confirmed their intention to make full use of the Machine Tool Centre to display new machine tools. According to visitor exit polls, around 25% of visitors arrived at Southern Manufacturing 2004 looking for machine tools, and over 80% of visitors were 'highly likely' or 'considering' to make a purchase.
Within the Used Machinery & Equipment and Live Auction Centre visitors will be able to view, in person or via video link, a wide variety of used machine tools and a live auction will take place each afternoon.
The Sub-Contracting Centre will create new opportunities for subcontractors to promote their skills and expertise to key buyers from all of the major engineering sectors, and to feature more prominently at the shows.
