Birmingham to Get 100% Shrouded Clean Cutting
01 Apr 2005
Do-it-yourself nitrogen generation is the way forward for Rojac Engineering as demand for 'clean cut' profiles is increasing. The Birmingham sheet metal fabricator is investing £50k in a nitrogen generation plant, and will be offering nitrogen shrouded clean cutting on all laser cut work including subcontract cutting. The plant is expected to pay for itself within two years.
Rojac has experienced increasing demand for 'clean cut' profiles, especially in 5-6mm thick mild steel.
In particular, commercial vehicles manufacturers require cut edges to be free from oxide build up, which can adversely affect paint finishes.
Most of Rojac's 'cutting only' work is for local markets, but the core business is in value added fabrications for wide range of industries all over the UK, with some going for export.
The company specialises in high quality, low volume work in expensive materials, and can manufacture virtually any component or assembly up to 5t.
