01 Apr 2005
Carlton Laser Services (CLS) has recently created and filled ten new skilled shopfloor jobs, and is increasing the members of its sales team from three to seven.
Following an exceptionally good year in 2004, with turnover growing by 64% to £4.1m, CLS has been selected as a finalist in the Leicester Business Awards under both the 'Investment in Leicester', and 'Overall Business of the Year' categories. Winners are to be announced on 20th May.
This expansion in workforce follows the doubling of the company's floor space to 36,000 ft 2in January when an adjoining unit was opened by Patricia Hewitt.
Orders are currently being placed for £1.2m of high technology, fast set up machines in automated cells that will take the fine limit sheetmetal work and laser cutting specialist into the premier league of contract fabrication companies.
In 2005 Carlton Laser Services plans to target the market for plastic parts by offering equivalent metal fabrications at a fraction of the cost.
