Mill/Turn Investments Go From Strength to Strength
01 Dec 2005
Drey Precision Ltd introduced another Mazak Horizontal Y-axis control NC Quickturn Nexas 200MY mill/turn machine in May this year. Investment in mill/turn machining centres has resulted in shorter lead-times and greater responsiveness.
The company has not looked back since it took tentative steps to introduce Y-axis mill capacity in July 2001.
February 2003 saw the introduction of C-axis mill/turn machining centres with bar feed capacity. The increased mill/turn capacity could have become a victim of its own success as the company became ever busier resulting in longer lead-times.
Continued introduction of driven tool turn/mill machines has enhanced capability, and off-line programming utilizing Licom APS ensures that jobs are manufactured in the most effective way.
