New Contract Cleaning Shop Opens for Business

Clayton Thermal Processes Ltd has opened a dedicated Contract Cleaning Shop. The facility enhances the company's service to the polymer and paint industries for the removal of paint and plastic from metallic parts, and to the foundry industry for the decoring of castings.

Clayton's fast turnround cleaning service uses fluidised bed furnaces, complete with afterburner to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act, (PG2/9(04), Metal Decontamination Processes.

For foundries, the removal of cores from castings includes resin bonded and alkaline phenolic cores Paints including epoxy powder paints, water based paints and adhesives can be cleaned from jigs, fixtures and other painted parts prior to repainting.

Most polymers can be removed from hot runners, pumps, dies, filters, screws etc, including polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, polycarbonate, polyester and even the more difficult glass filled or flame retardant polymers.
