THT's surface engineering processes are used to improve wear resistance and/or corrosion resistance of tooling and components. They include: TiN and TiCN hard coatings;

Plasma nitriding and nitrocarburising; Gas nitriding; Tufftriding; and Steam tempering. Plasma nitriding can be combined with a post process oxidisation, which improves the components coefficient of friction and produces an aesthetic black matt finish.

Vacuum treatments are clean, minimum distortion, computer controlled processes for hardening, tempering, stress relieving, and annealing.

Salt bath treatments are versatile, quick turnaround jobbing processes for hardening, tempering, case hardening and annealing.

THT treats a variety of tool steels and engineering steels as well as high speed steels and case hardening steels.

Special anneals and processes can also be carried out including SubZero treatment, air furnaces, subcritical anneal, and shot blasting.

At a 25th anniversary dinner in May, the company will be rewarding its two longest serving team members in recognition of the hard work and dedication of company employees that have enabled the company to survive, and continue to offer vital heat treatment and surface engineering services.
