Competitiveness Improvement Award Won

TRIG Engineering, plastics machining specialist and part of the Ensinger UK group of companies, has been presented with a Competitiveness Improvement Award by the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) in conjunction with the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC).
The award is a result of TRIG's 'lean manufacturing' initiative which is the driving force in TRIG's continuous improvement programme.
The project involved every employee in the company attending a lean awareness day before a team of eight people from different areas of the business ran the 'masterclass activity' focusing on one component in the company's wide range of products.
The team's progress was monitored each month by the WEAF and SBAC until completion of the project over several months. Results from the programme were superb including: Delivery performance improved to 100% on time; and Lead time reduced to 15 days from 68 days.
