Logistics is the Key to Growth at Expanding Site

A 10,000ft 2extension is currently being built at the Bryken factory, Merseyside. Due for completion at the end of this month, the extension is required to accommodate the increasing number of CNC machine tools, which now stands at 50, and will also provide room for future growth. Bryken's success can be attributed to the ways in which it adds value by 'going the extra mile' to manage the logistics of component supply for its customers.

Bryken's Kan-Ban service is a popular, cost effective method to ensure continued supply of a range of components used on a regular basis.

The company can offer a bar code system or direct line feed to collect usage data and generate manufacturing requirements. In addition, with the use of a unique PIN to access Bryken's website, customers can check their stock holding online.

Operating 24/7, Bryken supplies over 92 million quality precision, turned parts and machined components per year, and has a fleet of five vehicles dedicated to delivery of KanBan /JIT parts throughout the UK.

Bryken's investment in high quality machines has been aimed at producing smaller volumes of sophisticated parts, as well high volume production. The 50 CNC machine tools are a mixture of lathes and machining centres.

All of the lathes are twin spindle machines that are equipped with either bar feeders or gantry loaders.

The selection of machining centres complements the lathes to meet the ever increasing demands for quality machined components.
