£750k Investment Cuts a Dash in Fully Automatic Tube Profiling & Cutting
01 Jun 2005
Sheetmetal and fabrication specialist Intec Laser Services of Redditch has recently invested a total of £750k in what is thought to be the most powerful, fully automatic, high volume, laser tube cutting machine in the UK enabling tubular components to be cut with any shape of aperture, hole and complex or simple end detail. This facility is housed in a dedicated new building with overhead craneage for hopper loading.
Since 1979, Intec has invested heavily always purchasing the best laser cutting technology available, including several flat-bed laser cutting machines and a 5-axis machine for laser cutting of pressed and spun parts.
This ability to laser cut complex details in metal tubes and sections has opened up possibilities for the design of strong engineering components using economically available pre-formed stocks of box sections and tubes (rectangular, square, oval, or round cross sections).
Intec is the only sheetmetal fabricator in the UK to offer such a wide range of laser cutting processes (flatbed, 5-axis and tubular), in addition to waterjet cutting and CNC turret punching.
The company's fabrication capabilities are backed up by the most modern laser equipment allowing the component parts used in an assembly to be produced using the most efficient technology thereby delivering better quality and reduced price to the end customer.
