Robotic Press Brake Cell Will Accommodate Demand for Flexibility
01 Jun 2005
Fine limit sheetmetal work and laser cutting specialist Carlton Laser Services, of Leicester, is a step closer to implementing its plans to invest £1.2m in automated laser cutting and fabrication cells.
Following a consultation process with customers, Carlton Laser has now finalised the specification for a robotic press brake cell, and is just about to place an order for it.
The new machine will be the first of its kind in the UK. It will be required to operate a minimum of 12 hours unmanned; loaded with pallets of work and programmed with up to five different jobs. It will automatically check all critical dimensions and angles of parts produced.
The company is committed to investing in high technology, fast set up, machines with lights out running, as the only way forward to satisfy customer demand for flexible delivery schedules.
