01 Jun 2005
Tolexpo, a new international trade show for sheet metal, coil, tube and section technologies, will be held in Paris, 15-18 November 2005 in Paris (www.tolexpo. com). This is followed by FabForm 2005 a sheet metal forming and fabricating technology showcase in Nuremberg, 6-8 December (www.fabform. de).
Organisers of both events aim to present the latest innovations in production equipment for the sheet metal working sector.
According to a survey carried out by BNP-PARIBAS, the main reason for investment by French SMEs in the sector is the renewal of obsolete equipment (70%), followed by the improvement of productivity (46%) and compliance with standards and regulations (33%).
In France, there are about 10,000 companies whose activity is connected with the processing of metal in sheets, tubes and profiles and they employ about 40,000 people.
84% of them are SMEs employing fewer than 20 people, and 60% of them carry out subcontracted work on behalf of other companies.
Exhibits to be showcased at FabForm include press technologies, forming and stamping, flexible sheet metal working solutions, tools, special materials, tube processing, process control, software and CAD/CAM, research and information services.
