A Unique Future is Set Up in CNC Turning Capability
01 Mar 2005
Being a recent IT/Computing graduate with the Open University and an Officer of the BTMA, WML Engineering's Jason Meir has developed a unique approach to the manufacturing of turned components with the help of Tornos Technologies. As a result the Swansea company has expanded its CNC turning capabilities exponentially.
With investment in another Deco 20a Swiss Multi-Axis Sliding Head lathe from Tornos, and the latest state of the art Hommel measuring machine, all networked with Ethernet WIFI, comes the development of Object-Orientated Programming (OOP) and Object Orientated Manufacturing. OOP is a model organised around "objects" rather than "actions" and data rather than logic.
The latest PNC Lathe technology, which expands upon last century's CNC technology, is woven throughout the processes at WML Engineering Ltd.
The OOP approach redefines, develops and expands CNC technology. OOP allows WML to change machining processes around if necessary, again and again, to ensure that the most efficient processes are available for the client, both on the lathe and throughout its other machining processes. The same model can be applied to process development to meet the needs of the client for today and the future.
