Following recent substantial investments in three new CNC machines, and the implementation of a new production management IT system, Leeds based fabrication and machining engineers A Taylor & Son is continuing to invest in its people and plant facilities. Three production staff, who have already joined the team, are to be followed by a further 10 shop floor employees.
Friction Welding Service Grows By Acquisition

In a deal which brings together over 100 years' expertise in the friction welding industry, Thompson has acquired Blacks Equipment and transferred operations from Blacks' former factory in Doncaster to its modern facility in Halesowen.
Military Fighting Vehicle Simulation Systems Completed on Target

Last month specialist engineering service provider Arunfabs completed a project to manufacture ten simulator frames for Lockheed Martin to be used in land based military training. The contract was completed on target within six months and demonstrates Arunfabs' project management experience, and technical knowledge built up over many years, developing and improving equipment for the armed forces and support services, also offering total manufacturing solutions to companies around the south east.

The latest collaboration between welding engineering specialist Arc Energy Resources and Intoco, a supplier of high quality components for aluminium extrusion presses, has helped a Midlands tube drawing company maintain production. Intoco, with its wellequipped machine shop, is pretty much self-contained, but when it needs specialist fabrication services it works closely with Arc.
F1 Specialist Offers Subcontract Fabrication of Composite Parts
