Investments in People and Plant Pave the Way To Total 24 Hour Working

Following recent substantial investments in three new CNC machines, and the implementation of a new production management IT system, Leeds based fabrication and machining engineers A Taylor & Son is continuing to invest in its people and plant facilities. Three production staff, who have already joined the team, are to be followed by a further 10 shop floor employees.

John Whitworth and Mark Degnan have joined the company as Planning Engineers, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge in a wide variety of industrial markets as well as extensive experience of servicing the worldwide oil and gas industry, for which A Taylor & Son is a major supplier. Shane Hill joins the company to strengthen the estimating team.

The company continues to drive recruitment of highly skilled and motivated additions to the team and seeks a further 10 members of shop floor personnel by the end of the year, with the ultimate aim of introducing 24 hour working at the company's Machining facility. 24 hour working has proved a resounding success for the Fabrication division where it has significantly increased productivity and capacity.

Sales director David Minskip states: "By investing in both people and plant services we are proud to offer our customers the complete engineering solution driven by an outstanding workforce."

A Taylor & Son are medium to heavy engineers specialising in carbon and stainless steel fabrications up to 50 tonnes, encompassing services including fully coded welding, precision machining, fitting and assembly and a host of testing facilities.
