A thriving Rotherham engineering firm has secured two new contracts, worth more than £2m a year. The rapidly expanding Newburgh Engineering has won business from oil industry leader Sondex Wireline to create a device that checks the condition of oil pipe walls. It has also gained a new agreement with Vetco Gray Controls to produce and supply a maintenance-free control valve for oil wells.
Newburgh's management has invested millions in cellular manufacture to service clients from all over the world. As a result of the new contracts, Newburgh Engineering is recruiting for experienced, apprentice-trained CNC operators to work with state-of-the-art mill turn, 4/5 axis machining centres and horizontal twin pallet machining centres.
Newburgh has a comprehensive range of CNC and manual machine tools, offering CNC machining up to 10m x 3m x 2.5m and CNC turning up to o3.7m x 2m. All CNC machines are linked via a DNC network to a dedicated programming department running CAD/CAM packages capable of producing multi-axis CNC programmes.
