Precision Machinist Drills Smaller, Deeper Holes

Bonspiel Engineering Ltd have installed the first Star SV32 multi axis CNC in Scotland adding to it's already impressive range of 19 Star sliding head machines. In addition to the power and flexibility the machine provides the adoption of the high pressure coolant system allows the drilling of small diameter deep holes.
Company director Steve Bruce says "The introduction of the SV32 gives us the ability to complete more complex parts from harder materials in one operation in very fast times but also with the flexibility of lights out production. Star carried out some trials on parts for the medical and oil and gas industries for us and we were so convinced that this was the way forward we ordered the 160k machine straight away."
From the very beginning, Bonspiel has only ever specialized in precision CNC sliding head turned components from 0.5mm to 32mm in diameter.
The company operates from purpose built premises in Dundee supplying subcontract machined parts to various sectors worldwide including:
electronics, aviation, oil, medical and sub sea industries, working in a range of materials from mild steel and brass to Peek, beryllium copper and stainless steel.
